was in HK with NUS soccer for this Triennial Intervarsity Games (TIG) organized by University of HK. I was almost dead when I arrived at Changi Airport on fri(29th) morn because I was so so so tired. Ytrdae break camp liao thot can go home rest and do my packing, but my capt ask me go training wor.. I really so exhausted le.. but the way he put it, I feel bad if i dun go.. so just went.. but think it wasn’t a gd idea because for the first time in so so long I lost my temper so easily..
not only soccer went.. other sports like badminton, bball, tennis, table-tennis, athletics, swimming also went for the games and other universities like University of Macau, Fudan, UiTM(m’sian uni) also participated.. But for each sport, mainly 3 unis were competing against each other lor.. so we were up against UiTM and HKU.

Well.. we lost 2-0 to HKU but overcome UiTM 3-2 after they twice took the lead.. It’s quite amazing how we managed to claw our way back because they were a really gd team.. they were the superior team amongst us three but ended up last.. so ironic.. haha.. but they might as well deserve it cuz where they have abundance in skills, they lacked sorely in gamesmanship.. when things weren’t going their way, they started to play real dirty lo.. and I got hit on the face by a flinging arm.. it was so deliberate lor.. so in the end, HKU ended up first while we ended up second. 算了, it’s supposed to be a friendly tournament anyway..
not tt we took it like a friendly tournament.. almost every morn of the 9day trip we had to wake up 6plus in the morn to have light training.. I dun know abt the other teams.. but from what I heard, most of them only had to wake at 8plus 9am go breakfast wor.. so envy them…. most of the time we were either training, having team meetings or supporting the bball team (tts y they come support us too ba?) so also not much time for shopping, though we idiotic-ly went to a shopping warehouse on July 1st. It was the day HK 回归中国, and it was so obviously a public holiday and I dumb-ly brought them to the adidas warehouse! = (
I wld say, in whole, the trip was quite gd in terms of my performance on the pitch ba.. it’s been a long time since I felt satisfied with my play in an NUS shirt.. what’s more 3 consecutive games.. but sometimes, just don’t have the recognition.. im starting to feel dis-illusioned with life in the team.. haha.. just kidding.. haiz.. been thinking abt it for sometime and when things became so clear, I almost hit myself on the head. I mean, since when have I played soccer for the recognition? for the praises of others? nah.. I play for myself, because I enjoy playing.. and if I play well, im happy.. its enough.. =)
haiz, but the sianz thing was the bad news nearing the end of the trip. Coach said the Asean University Games(AUG) next yr was to be in July. I purposely arranged my exchange to Japan to be in April because the other sem wld clash with IVP games wor.. now I will miss out on AUG… m I suay or wat? Sometimes, I feel im like a jinx to myself.. last yr I cldn’t make it to AUG because I was injured (ok.. mayb I wasn’t injured I wldn’t be picked also). Even at Tampines Prime League, when I was training with them I never got the breakthrough I needed.. but just when I left, there was a change of coach.. haiz.. AUG is one every 2 yrs.. so guess I wun ever participate in it le.. =(
as I was saying, in terms of performance it was gd, but seriously speaking, from the start of the trip, I want to come home le.. mayb I was tired from camp, like.. all the enthusiasm was used up.. mayb I feel I don’t click with the rest ba.. the others in my yr r quite havoc de.. imagine kmsszps and foespl.. and those one yr my junior also different.. they all like to make fun of pple n stuff.. I mean yah.. soccer guys r supposed to be lydat.. but I don’t really feel in the same circle as them.. mayb we hardly spend much time together in sch? unlike in jC.. the other day was talking to mwae, she also tok abt such a prob in the badminton team in NTU.. tts y she isn’t really keen in joining NTU badminton.. haiz..

But in the end, the trip wasn’t tt bad.. it was enjoyable in a way.. we did had some great fun.. made some new frens.. did some shopping n sight-seeing.. and all these at a highly subsidized rate… haha.. really 赚到! oh, btw, those who dun really like the souveneirs.. really sorry.. I din have much time to shop! really sorry wor..
