But I might go and catch a movie later.. Juno.. wanted to watch it last week but I ended up watching Kungfu Dunk.. I tell u.. it was a big mistake! I met bcxtfwb earlier in the day at Jurong Point for lunch to thank her for lending me her portfolio for my NM2208. Last sem, I did this visual communications module then got many work to submit in the end and needed a portfolio mah.. then one portfolio so ex, abt 80++ wor.. lucky she lend me..
Anyway, after lunch I wanted to catch the show at JP but the timing were quite bad.. then I checked the AXS station and saw that they were showing Juno at 420pm.. so I was like.. ok lah.. let’s watch tt instead. Then I went back to bishan.. reach there abt 345pm and I realized that Kungfu Dunk was showing at 330pm.. I was thinking.. GV always have a lot of commercial.. ALWAYS. So I took my chance and watched it (as expected, when i went in it just started only lo..haha~) because from the start I also wanted to see how they make the movie.. and partly cuz got Charlene Choi mah.. u see u see.. kawaii ne? hee~
But if u haven’t watched it, I can tell u.. it’s a disaster.. The plot is so weak.. Every turn of events is so loosly linked together.. its like so 做作 u know.. haha.. and the bball scenes are so ridiculous.. the jumping movement and slam dunks are so fake.. and they showed like zillions scenes of it.. r they blind or does jay chou really play the same bball as us? =p
But the show has its potential.. the characters background is quite gd.. as in.. there is a lot of room for exploration and for the characters to be developed.. like the bball captain(Chen Bo-Lin) who is psychologically depressed by the previous final defeat tt he drowns himself in sorrow with alcohol.. Then there is the other star player of the team, who is unwilling to accept Charlene Choi’s love (awww~ ) because of his love for an already dead girlfriend.
Plus, I think the fighting scenes are quite nice too. Ok.. cannot compare to Jackie Chan or Jet Li, but at least it looks realistic and they were exciting.. haha..
Oh yah.. there r quite some funny dialogues as well.. but tts abt it lah..
Overall it was quite a disappointing show lah.. something not even Charlene Choi could salvage because her scenes really really at a premium.. =p but I expected it to be this bad lah.. cuz I know that sports movies are very difficult to direct and film.. I think game play is always spontaneous.. its very difficult to act and direct one lah.. tts y I will always think that Slam Dunk the comic, is the most exciting “unreal” bball I will ever see.. haha..
On another note.. SoC soccer is into the IFG semi-finals!!!! For the first time in dunno how long.. mayb never even got past the grp stages before lo.. haha.. But partly thanx to a very very favourable draw for the groupings.. I was laughing so hard when I receive the groupings.. no disrespect to the teams in our grp but we all have to admit that Science, Engin, Arts, Law and SDE are all of a different league.
I didn’t had a doubt we would progress into the semis partly oso cuz this yr we have alot of quality players attackingly and defensively.. but what I din expect was a unfortunate series on events last sat. Our first match was scheduled to be at 1115am. I duly arrived at 9am because I thought I have to ensure the organizers that SoC indeed is sending a team. When I saw Nicholas, he said we were playing each other at 945am(he’s from BIZ), I was taken aback. I thought I read the schedule wrongly and screwed my team chances of playing by asking them to come only at 10am. A quick check showed that I was correct, but instead the organizer’s changed the schedule but I din received the updated copy from my "beloved" sports sec. Until now, he is not returning my msgs.. thank you huh.. I oso not wanting to scold him.. I just wanna ask him abt IFG squash lo..
So, we started the match against Bizad, the best team in our grp, with only 8players. And we ended up drawing 1-1 with them! It was pretty amazing. We could have snatched a win if not a spectacular shot from ChengKang (biz) that went into the top corner. But thanx to Biz who had enough sportsmanship and sympathy (some may say arrogance? ) to start the match with 9players although they had enough players.
We won the next match against USP 4-0 (me scoring an individual goal that started from the halfway line.. haha.. so bhb! =p) , drawing the remaining match with Medicine and Dentistry 1-1 and 0-0. The last match should have been a win for us lor.. but I think it was a long day, and the weather was rather hot. We put in a rather lackluster performance and were really lucky to go through on goal difference after we tie on pts with Medicine.
Anyway, throughout the day, the organisers cancelled the lunch break and reduce playing time from 40mins to 30mins.. Not tt those weren't to our favour, but it just made me feel that this event was very badly organised.. then there's the thing abt the semi-finals being postpone or not.. quite frustrating lah..
Aiyah.. there’s really too much to say.. haha.. Im just excited to go thru.. although we playing Arts(19/02.. its tmr!).. 凶多吉少.. but think I’ll just ask them to enjoy themselves.. or mayb we can do a Barnsley over Liverpool? kEke..
kk.. im rushing out to watch Juno already.. hope its really as nice as they write it out to be.. =)
Oh yah, before i end off.. I have a quote for lmymg:
"You r not finished if you lose, you r finished if you quit.. "
So stop thinking you r useless, or a failure or whatsoever and do the best you can!
