mOrE taLes fRoM Japan~

Today supposed to go ohanami (see sakura, its how they call it here in Japan), but i woke like.. 12pm here.. haha.. cuz last nite watched the EPL matches mah, so slpt late lo.. I went to Ebisu to search for this pub called Footnik cuz i read somewhere tt they do show soccer matches. Plus, its a british club, what r the chances they wun show? =p

but when i reached Ebisu, I couldn't find the place.. I came out from the entrance (which i thought was correct), but i was lost for like.. 15mins? I walk n walk n walk, but i couldn't find it. Referred to my map, but realised it useless because I rely on landmarks to get to places and the two maps I have do not have any landmarks to guide me to the place. I was quite exasperated. Wanted to give up, but travelling ard here in Tokyo is so ex, I dun wanna make a wasted trip. So, i decided to go back to the station and try other exits.

I turned out from one, walked abit then saw some ang mohs walking towards (then past me). Hmm.. they might have came from there. Look more closely, I saw another grp of ang mohs walking infront of me. I just followed my instincts and followed them. haha.. and they lead me to the right place. I tell u, this place is buzzing. It is so filled I had to stand, and still had to squeeze. But its full of atmosphere and it sure beats watching at home alone. But i left at half-time of the Man u vs Liverpool match anyway. One thing is cuz last train here is 1209am. And Man u were alreadi up 1-0, plus Mascherano got himself sent off stupidly, I doubt Liverpool had any way back into the game, so i left early to reach home in time for the Arsenal-Chelsea clash, which was much more exciting compared to the first half of the earlier match.

So, anyway, I woke up late today, settled some misc stuff.. by time i reached the train station, had my lunch (wallet burnt..10Sin for lunch! but i guess tts normal pricing here..) alreadi 230pm liao. I made my way to this Yoyogi Gyoen Park in Harajuku to catch some pics of Sakura (cHeRry bLosSoms).

Yeah, I know im not cherry blossoms, but i also tio pian lo.. the write-up say can see.. but I go there.. like close to dun have lo.. haha.. But something really interesting happened there. When i was at the outer shrine (i didn't go to the main shrine cuz very far wor~), i overheard these grp of guys speaking in chinese lah.. shldn't be from china ba cuz dun have the 卷舌.. haha.. so later this guy from their grp like wanted to ask me take pics for them, but thinking how to ask cuz i think he thinks im japanese (well, i do look like one, don't i).Then i just said, "我会讲华语" he like abit stunned. haha.. i shld have taken a pic of his face then, his expression was quite funny.

In anycase, I alreadi decided beforehand that I will visit this Aoyama Cemetery, which was nearby, so I made my way there lo.. haha.. not tt i had anyone to visit, nor m i interested to see things I don't wanna see.. but the write-up says "You can see gorgeous cHeRry bLossOms there, and its a popular spot to enjoy hanami parties". Well, when i went there, there wasn't a soul holding a viewing party. Hmm.. oh mayb they were, just tt i couldn't see them u see. =p But this place, compared to the earlier park, was like a heaven (quite fitting huh). The sakura here is so beautiful, everytime i see a nice view, i uncontrollably gasp. haha.. as if.. but its really nice. In general, I uploaded some pics, with me inside, and some w/o me (cuz xos ask me to upload scenic pics, he doesn't wanna see my face inside wor.. so sad.. =( haha..)

well, mayb they got no one because today's a mon. But ytrdae, I was at this Ueno park with my mum (yeah yeah, view sakura with my mum, very romantic rite~) before she left for S'pore. I was hesitant abt goingg cuz u know me.. it just seems weird to me, but I thought since she is here, at such a timing, if no see sakura at all abit wasted lah.. anyway, this is the place which was really crowded!

you know.. i was always wondering why the jap pple here, so many wear the white mask (above). I thought sars come back u know, so scary.. haha.. but after a few days, i realise maybe they wear it to protect their nose and mouth/lips from the cold winds.. I have quite dry lips now, and my nose feels numb sometimes when im walking outside too long.. but i don't think i will wear the mask lah.. it looks so ugly (tho i dunno i look uglier with or w/o the mask.. wahaha.. ).
But its very common here noe.. so many pple r wearing it..

oh, and for those who wanna see how my apartment (in name is apartment lah, but i, call it a room.. =) ) looks like.. its slightly bigger than my room in eusoff lah.. plus.. got toilet and shower in my room.. i cant ask for more.. =)

anyway, was just browsing on how to ballot for my HYP. Wanted to do some really interesting stuff like "Realtime Battle Game in 3D". But apparantly, he assigned the project to another student le cuz I cant see it on the selection page. Also thought of "Implementation of a System for Data Security, Privacy and Anonymity" because I was always interested in crtography, preventing pple from accessing things and security. But this project seems too huge and difficult for me, its like a 12MC version of CS3214, plus only i one person carrying it on my shoulders. To speak the truth, I am not talented at all, plus i have no experience of doing 3214. Plus, this project seems really impt to the advisor because it involves the united nations and stuff, like they 委托 him, to have a complete a runable program. So, I din wanna disappoint him lah.. so i think i wun do it.

Well, the one i was really interested in: Image Forensics. What i will be doing would be telling whether a pic had been photoshoped, or altered, or this pic is a pic of another pic. Imagine Edison scandal. I can tell if the pics were doctored or they r real! so cool. Or rather what i would have been able to do. I was searching for it on the selection page but i just couldn't find it. I don't rem giving him my name/matric number when i discussed this proj with him so he couldn't hav assigned it to me. I guess he must have assigned it someone else. Sianz. Imagine the disappointment. I guess i won't be doing HYP after all this planning and sourcing. Anyone doing? Not doing?

Well, think i better slp soon, tmr still wanna go to one more place to do ohanami.. The Imperial Palace! yes.. sakura season ending soon, so i wanna make the best of this period and take some nice pics. But i will only do it till tmr, cuz frankly speaking, they r all the same flowers. I see here or there.. oso sakura mah.. hee~ dun get me wrong, they r really beautiful, but im no flower admirer. =)

wednesday have to find my way to mita campus just in case i get lost on thursday morn. Have to find a way to Waseda Uni too cuz on thurs eve because meeting Prof Loh Hong Sai (Acting Director) plus IRO and delegation for dinner cuz they will be in Tokyo for this APAIE Conference. Meeting bigshot so cant be late.. haha.. but oso abit regret agreeing to meet lah. Initially i thot can take this as a chance to meet up with whoever NUS students in Japan oso mah. But so far, only another one and I meeting them only.. if don't talk like abit weird.. ah well.. no choice lah.. 一言即出,四馬难追.
