arrive at brisbane close to noon and finally met leona!!! after almost 10months since we bid farewell in tokyo.. it feels so great to see an old friend again.. =) we spend sometime of the train ride to nerang catching up with one another.. abt what we were doing in our lives etc..

went to seaworld! it wasnt as huge and grand as i thought.. maybe after disney land and disney sea in japan.. everywhere i go, i wld get this feeling ba? =p its unbeatable.. the decoration and landscape is so pretty and i dont anywhere can match it..

went ard taking some rides b4 heading to the dolphin show.. which was quite gd.. but i still prefer the one at universal studio in osaka.. that show was full of impact and was quite thrilling..

walked through the aquarium which was pretty tiny surprisingly.. i thot it wld be big.. that's why choose not to go the one in sydney.. but the water-ski show was quite brilliant.. too bad i was the only one watching for most parts of it.. the 3 of them went to get hotdogs.. and they took ages.. i felt pretty dumn watching alone.. can feel pple's pity eyes on me.. as if i was here on hol alone..

Sea lion show~

nothing much happened that day.. except that leona + minchu cooked spaghetti for dinner.. it tasted ok lah.. but definitely not the best i have eaten.. =p but really appreciate them cooking~ havent ate anything cooked by a friend b4.. not to mention 2!! hehe~

was supposed to visit Tropical Fruit World this particular day but had to change plans to go Movie World because it rained! we actually got 1/65 of the rainy days gold coast experiences.. what are the odds man.. not that we gav up w/o a fight.. we figured the rain (and hailing/howling) would be done when morning ends and decided to push thru the plans.. but public transport there isnt feasible.. either not available or pretty steep on prices on cab (even from gold coast airport which is 15mins away from it!) we tried to rent a car for the day.. but as it was long weekend (cuz Queen's birthday's tmr), all the companies we called no more cars for us le..

So anyway, we headed off to movieworld and reached only half hr late.. and once we were there, i was immediately disappointed.. i already had a bad feeling when i saw that "Lethal Weapon" was closed for the day. At the time, i wasnt sure what it was but just had the niggling feeling it might be the thrilling ride i was so looking forward to.. and so it was.. it's like a roller coaster.. just that, you dont sit in carrigges, its just a seat, and u are connected to the tracks from above.. the thrilling thing abt this ride is that it spins 360 left-right and top-down.. i missed it twice in Japan at Fuji-Q.. it so sian i missed it again here in goldcoast.. *sigh*

that aside, the first ride was absolutely mind-blowing! Superman escape was just the type of thrilling rides i was looking for.. super-fast, super-twists.. the free fall batman ride was not bad too.. just that it shoots up from bottom instead of dropping from the top, so not that scary.. but almost forgot that minchu was scared of these kind of free fall rides.. haha.. but didn't manage to catch much shows..only the hollywood stunt driver.. it was actually quite nice.. thought the reverse driving was pretty awesome but in the end, found out that the driver was actually driving forward, just that the car was modelled to look like it was backwards! how innovative~ so tts how they do it in movies.. not really engaging talented drivers.. this really helps widen my FX knowledge..

the other rides were more or less similar as to the other theme parks.. just that there was backwards drop~ I've always wondered why they dont ever design rides which does this.. since there's already the conventional forward drop, it shldnt be too difficult to do a backward drop right.. but i've never sat on one before.. till today! so, it's a new experience~ and 彼女 particularly liked it.. when leaving liao still pestering that we go back and sit Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster again.. since the wild west fall makes u pretty wet.. still must wear poncho so troublesome..

Heath Ledger, alive!!!

haha.. we tried to rush to catch the Dracula's Cabaret show near Pacific Fair but when we reached, a long queue already formed and there wasn't anymore tix for the night.. but we managed to see the joker! he looks so alike Heath Ledger.. we were enquering and when we turned, he was there staring at us, attempting to scare us i guess.. haha..just disappointed i didnt take a pic with him, altho leona n minchu did.. overall.. was quite disappointed didnt manage to catch the show..

it was a pretty long journey down to Tropical Fruit world, and it wasnt that worth it? well.. the place doesnt exactly look like that from the brouchure.. but the fruits were pretty good. ate many fruits i dont know what, at the fruit tasting show.. the tour was quite comprehensive as well.. had a tour around the plantations on truck..

then took a boat around the swamp.. we even played bball at treaure island.. haha.. it was fun~ there, we sat on a tram ride as well that went in a loop ard the island... the ride was pretty short since the place was small but it went pretty fast, so it was quite fun..

just that, i was seated kinda awkwardly? minchu sat the front most with leona behind her.. 彼女 was supposed to sit behind her then me, but this lady from kuwait asked 彼女 to sit in front of her instead.. leaving me just behind leona.. i mean.. im fine with it since my conscience is clear.. just that.. dont know how leona will think.. she must be thinking.. "why is he sitting behind me.. does he have any ulterior motive.. is he trying to take advantage of me..?" that's why i was quite piss with that lady..

okay.. i understand her situation.. i know women from middle east are more conservative on such matters.. but does she consider that we have constraints as well? plus.. its not like im sitting behind her.. im sitting in front of her.. what can i possibly do? its not only that.. i think their overall behaviour was quite bad.. they r so singaporean.. so kiasu one lo.. at the fruit tasting there, pile a whole mountain of fruits somemore (彼女说的!) ah well.. anyway, i guess leona wont be so suspicious of me de lah? 怎么说, we r friends.. i believe that she have trust in me.. right......? leona? =p

after coming back, had delicious sushi at a jap restaurant along the goldcoast highway.. then sent leona off at the bus stop.. so fast 3days over le.. we'll just have to see her in melbourne then.. sigh.. the next time we say goodbye to her again, will be like when we parted in japan.. dont know when then can meet again le.. sigh..

it says it all~

kinda lost as to what to do today. initially we planned to go 3 theme parks including the Wet and Wild Park, but since they werent all that keen on that, we totally dropped it and had a day free. Actually, i planned for this, but they werent all that interested in the art gallery and wax museum either.. and stadbroke island seems too far and too tiring to do for a last day programme in goldcoast. in the end, we went surfing! haha.. how could we not think of it. We are at the gold coast.. its surfer's paradise.. its a no brainer! and i was really thankful we did it. I totally enjoyed myself! it was so much fun.. actually being able to stand on the board n ride a wave is so exciting.. altho i stood, the wave wasnt that big so i didnt exactly ride that far.. but the feeling was awesome..

haha.. but the paddling out to the sea before the surf was so tiring! i havent work my arms that hard since sometime ago.. towards the end, dont even move much when i paddle lo.. haha.. so embarrassing.. but in all, it was a really great experience.. i will definitely wanna do this again~ too bad Leona wasn’t here to do this with us.. I bet she would love it~
